TIS to Participate in Tsukuba International Exchange Fair 2008
Tsukuba International School will host a musical performance at the the Tsukuba International Exchange Fair 2008. The show will take place on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 1:05pm to 1:30pm.
The band is composed of Luis Sartor, who hails from Argentina, Junichi Tanaka, a music teacher at Meikei High School, and Akehide Yoguchi, a former student of Meikei.
TIS has served the foreign community of Tsukuba as an international school since 1992, and it has recently moved to a beautiful Finnish log-house in the Kamigo area of Tsukuba. The log-house was featured in the fifth issue of Tsukuba Style magazine. The school’s representative is now Mr. Masayasu Kano, a teacher who recently retired from a 29 year career at Meikei High School.
The performance will include a collection of Latin American music by Luis, whose daughter attended TIS, and Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Yoguchi, the former colleague and student of Mr. Kano. Some TIS students will also join the band in a rendition of the Do Re Mi song from the Sound of
Music. Audience members should feel free to sing along!
We hope you enjoy the show!
