Tsukuba International School (TIS) is a small but growing non-profit elementary school that is a welcoming place for students of all races and cultures. We offer a full-time English-language-based international curriculum for students from 6 to 11 years of age.
This spring, Ibaraki Prefecture gave us permission to construct a school building which will bring us one step closer to becoming an authorized “miscellaneous” school (kakushu gakko) offering Grades 1 to 10 (16 students per grade). Three years from now, we are planning on introducing the middle year program. We are also planning to seek International Baccalaureate authorization for the primary and middle year programs.
